Abstract

Scalability is one of the most important requirements for real-time systems on function-distributed multiprocessors. In this paper, requirements on a scalable real time kernel for function-distributed shared-memory multiprocessors are clarified, and its specification and implementation issues are discussed. We propose a new kernel model in which kernel resources are classified into some classes with different characteristics.
