Abstract

The radiative heat transfer is combined with the heterogeneous model accounting for conduction and convection proposed in the first part of this paper in order to determine heat transfer coefficients in high-temperature fluidized beds. The effects of parameters such as particle size, emissivities of particle and walls, bed and wall temperatures, heat flux direction, etc., are investigated systematically and the relative importance of each component at different conditions is considered. A comparison of the predicted results with the experimental data in the literature shows a reasonable agreement in a large range of particle diameters and temperatures.
