Abstract

Inside Cover: In article number 2100620 by Daniel Bautista-Salinas and co-workers, a cochlear implant (CI) that curls into the cochlea under the influence of body temperature is proposed as an alternative to current CIs which generate intracochlear trauma during implantation. The CI recovery forces are studied numerically and experimentally and results show values below the rupture threshold. A recovery study in a functional CI shows that the device could be used clinically.
