Abstract

The incredible rate of the technological innovation as well as the scientific progress throughout the last century has brought us not only the sophisticated tools that make our routine works unbelievably easy, but also an extreme diversification and specialization in the vast areas of biomedical sciences. On the contrary, as new subspecialties emerge and the mainstream subjects branch out further, invisible walls between the groups of scientists, which prevent people to understand each other properly and locked them up in their ghettos, have been arisen. Undoubtedly, many discoveries have been made and huge successes have been achieved just because of this “over-specialization”. However, it also brought some disadvantages mainly for the alienation it caused. Journal of Interdisciplinary Histopathology (JIHP) is born with the hope of breaking these barriers between the disciplines which are already interrelated or using the same tools and methods in the areas of histology, pathology, and biological sciences. In the first issue of JIHP, various original articles covering the human pathology and the animal science as well as the case reports have been published. The very first articles appeared in the debut of our journal also came from many countries all over the world, from Norway, India, Estonia, Nigeria, to Turkey.
