Abstract

Historically, drug prevention public service announcements (PSA) campaigns have been ineffective in preventing drug use due to ineffective targeting and inappropriate message selection. The purpose of this paper is to address why drug prevention campaigns have failed, and to suggest ways to design more effective campaigns.
