Abstract
With the rapid advances of multimedia communications and networking technologies, immersive experience (IE) is gradually becoming a promising evaluation paradigm for interactive network services. In contrast with traditional quality of experience (QoE), which is generally applicable to regular audio/video services, IE is able to more precisely portray the extreme and vivid scene experiences brought by emerging interactive network services. To this end, this work first studies the differences between IE and traditional QoE from both theoretical and technical perspectives, including definitions, applications, and technical challenges. Then, we explore and classify influencing factors (IFs) on IE into various categories, which are the crucial basis of IE evaluation and management. Finally, to fulfill the timely IE evaluation under massive high-dimensional data, two lightweight evaluation approaches are proposed by exploiting artificial intelligence technology and exploring the mathematical relationship, respectively.
