Abstract

Abstract: Architectural design is a complex task which requires expert knowledge, a great deal of experience and no small amount of creativity and artistic flair. However, while humans are very good at creativity, intuition, artistry and evaluation, they are notoriously bad at routine mundane tasks. Searching through large databases of past designs can be such a task. This can result in useful design knowledge being ignored. In this paper we present a way to aid architects in their work by providing a software tool aimed at recording, retrieving and evaluating architectural designs.
