Abstract

A theory of light absorption by excitons in periodic structures with an arbitrary number of quantum wells is constructed. It is shown that the temperature dependence of the frequency-integrated absorption characteristics is due to a competition between the processes of dissipative decay of quasi-two-dimensional excitons and the light-exciton interaction.
