Abstract

The article discusses what the author refers to as a historical and autobiographical reflection on the political aspects of making public health policy in America as of 2017, and it mentions political behavior in the country, as well as frustration and the author's personal experiences. Tuberculosis reporting and the late New York, New York Department of Health official Hermann N. Biggs are examined, along with recommendations for public health practice in the U.S.
