Abstract

We appreciate the thoughtful commentary by Conte et al1 concerning our report of objective performance goals (OPGs) for femoral–popliteal interventions from the Superficial Femoral Artery-Popliteal Evidence Development (SPEED) study group.2 Data for SPEED were obtained from the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) registry and developed within the Registry Assessment of Peripheral Interventional Devices (RAPID) framework.2 Conte et al1 raised a number of points concerning registry-based OPGs that deserve comment.
