Abstract

In this work, it proposed an algorithm to cancel the tow ship interference. It also proposed a blind source separation (BSS) algorithm which utilizes the characteristic of time structure between signals and the feature of non-parametric of non-stationary underwater acoustic signal. The proposed algorithm calculates the direction of arrival (DOA) of each source signal from the BSS's output. Then, it deletes the tow ship interference components from the BSS's outputs if its DOA belongs to blind-zone which is a direction area generated by tow ship radiated noise. The cleaned array space data could be reconstructed by the picked BSS's outputs which only include interested targets components. At last, it uses minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) to estimate the targets' bearings from the cleaned array signal. Computer simulation results show that the proposed method is proved to be more effective than MVDR algorithm in the aspect of detecting weak target and lessening the range of blind-zone.
