Abstract

The city of Tours is located between two rivers, the Loire and the Cher. Its tourism has been based upon chateaux as a historical town, retaining pride from these chateaux which have undoubtedly built fame for her. The city has decided since 1993 to enlarge its tourism industry and side along business tourism. The city has some assets to position within such an appealing and profitable market. Closer to Paris, owing to the high speed train, for it is an hour from Paris, Tours has the infrastructure and the facilities for accommodating tourists such a large conference and exhibition halls and large modern hotels. Although regarded as a sector sensitive to deceit, business tourism holds great attention on the part of local professionals who have spared no effort to help it soar.
