Abstract

With the development of transportation, the distance contains costs and times, and they are called cognitive distance. The cognitive distance accurately reflects the convenience of the movement rather than the physical (actual) distance that is more useful than the physical distance when planning travel. Therefore, in this work, we propose a method to calculate the cognitive distance based on the physical distance by extracting tourists’ travel experiences (#movements, travel distance, etc.) from tips and venues posted to Swarm by Foursquare. In this paper, we discussed our generated cognitive map that rearranged tourist spots on the two-dimensional space.
