Abstract

Tr Summer Issue '81 carried David Airey's brief note on Tourism Education & Training in the United Kingdom which was immensely appreciated by our subscribers, particularly those involved in University education. On their request the Board of Editors has found it desirable to introduce a section on Tourism Education & Training for the reference of our readership. We shall welcome dispatches carrying ‘body of knoweledge on Tourism’ to go with every issue. This number puts forth a summary on research report! Alternative Approaches to Tertiary Tourism Education with special reference to Developing Countries’ prepared by Develompent Research Institute (DRI) University of Tilburg, the Netherlands. Professor Lloyd E. Hudman, Department of Geography Brigham Young University Utah (USA) informs us of an Associate Degree and a four year degree programme in Travel & Tourism which is detailed here; David Airey further expands his note giving states of tourism Education programmes in the U.
