Abstract

Tourism is a major activity in Luxembourg. The industry has long been significant as a result of Luxembourg's diverse historic, cultural and environmental resource base, and its central location with respect to numerous urban agglomerations in neighbouring countries. Professor Richard V. Smith of the Department of Geography at Miami University here describes the nature of tourism to Luxembourg and the direction in which it is developing, highlighting efforts being made to acculturate the large number of foreign-guest workers employed in the country's tourism industry.
