Abstract
Infrared chemiluminescence from the reaction of atomic oxygen with acetylene was studied for CO laser application. A totally inverted vibrational population between ν = 5 and ν = 7 was obtained by preferentially relaxing the lower virbrational levels with added cold CO. Treanor pumping at high fuel flows was also observed.
