Abstract

The development of laparoscopic aortic surgery has led us to develop new approaches to the abdominal aorta. Transperitoneal approaches are not always possible and can be difficult, as is the case with open surgery. In these difficult cases, a left retroperitoneal laparoscopic (retroperitoneoscopic) approach (LRPA) is necessary. We describe the LRPA we used for total laparoscopic aortoiliac occlusive disease (AIOD) and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repairs.
