Abstract
A total synthesis of a proposed structure of Pandangolide 1 is described. The key features of the synthesis include Grignard reaction, Asymmetric dihydroxylation, Yamaguchi macrolactonization and RCM. Cost-effective and readily available precursors like (R)-glyceraldehyde is used as the starting material for the synthesis.
