Abstract Starting from photocycloaddition of methyl 2,4-dioxopentanoate to methyl tiglate, an electron-deficient olefin, methyl-migrated monocyclofarnesyl sesquiterpenoids, d,l-sollasin a and d, anti-bacterial compounds, were synthesized.
