Abstract
AbstractThe 1H‐benz[e]indenes 17–21, building blocks for the synthesis of steroids, were synthesized by coupling the silyl enol ethers 5 or 6 with ethylene acetals 7,8 of α,β‐unsaturated ketones, followed by cyclization under basic or acidic conditions.
