Abstract

Case reports of 6 persons subjected to total removal of an intramedullary spinal ependymomas are presented. Of these 3 have to date no significant disability; hence the chance of complete success according to these case reports is greatest the earlier surgical intervention occurs. Best results are obtained with: 1) early intervention; 2) encapsulation or good tumor demarcation; and 3) use of 2-point coagulation forceps.
