Abstract
The work described in this paper is the oxidation reaction of activated carbon with NO 2 over PdO - CeO 2/ Al 2 O 3 catalysts. The starting temperature of carbon oxidation of NO 2 dropped to less than 150°C over PdO - CeO 2 catalyst. The effects of the addition of TiO 2 to PdO - CeO 2/ Al 2 O 3 catalysts on the oxidation reaction of activated carbon were also examined. The production of CO 2 at higher temperatures just after the beginning of carbon combustion (200~400°C) was enhanced by the catalyst containing equimolar TiO 2 to PdO catalyst.
