Abstract
A simple relation between total inclusive neutrino-scattering cross sections and total muon-capture rates in nuclei is derived. The calculation makes use of the closure and the nonrelativistic impulse approximations. The relation is used to predict neutrino cross sections in /sup 12/C for E/sub ..nu../ = 150--250 MeV.
