Abstract

Introduction: Nose is a complex three dimensional structure and the aesthetic focus of the face. Total nasal reconstruction following a total rhinectomy is a complex surgical challenge for a reconstructive surgeon. The aim of the reconstruction is to maintain function and aesthetics. Replacement of the lost structures skin, cartilage bone and relining the internal lining poses a unique challenge. Various options are described in the literature including prosthesis, free flaps and reconstruction with forehead flaps with cartilage grafts.
