Abstract

Study Objective: Background: Impairment of bladder function after a traditional radical hysterectomy is debilitating for cancer patients. Here we present a nerve-sparing total laparoscopic radical hysterectomy (LRH). Materials and Methods: The bladder function related nerve system consists of the inferior hypogastric nerve, pelvic nerve plexus, splanchnic nerve originating from S2-4, and the bladder branch. We first elucidate the vascular system in the cardinal ligament (deep uterine vein) and posterior layer of the vesicouterine ligament (the superior vesical vein) with liposuction.
