Abstract

Total electron scattering cross sections of CH 4 and NH 3 molecules have been obtained for 400–4000 eV electrons by measurement of the electron-beam intensity attenuation through a gas cell. For both molecules, the present cross sections are in good agreement with those reported in literature by one experimental group but 0–30% higher than those of another experimental group.
