Abstract

SummaryPlasma volume (dye method) and hematocrit value were measured in normal and muscular dystrophic mice, and from these data total blood and erythrocyte volumes were calculated. These 2 groups of mice possessed almost identical total blood, erythrocyte and plasma volumes per 100 g of body weight, but the muscular dystrophic mice were 33% lighter than their littermate controls.
