Abstract

The text deals with the issue of Christian identity. The subject of the research was its unintended expression in a creative workshop - activity focused on the subjective development of an individual, not related to religious practices. It was assumed that individual modern identity is constructed by an individual through narration. Qualitative research was carried out within the paradigm of humanistic-oriented pedagogy and the trend of research through art. Their assumptions provide for the cognitive use of art forms - the creative process and the experiences initiated in it become a source of information about a man (creator), and this approach is characterized by the desire to show the fullness of human experience, written in the content describing the inner world. The content of the verbal and visual narrative was investigated, as a commentary to the experiences gained in the workshop, direct and symbolic references to it were made as indicators of the Christian identity. The case study method was used. It was established that the creative workshop focused on reflection on identity becomes a mental space for reconciling Christian identity, for participants oriented on Christian values and faith, a space that may, in consequence, lead to its crystallization. Its properties make it an effective educational method. Keywords: Christian identity, personal Christian identity, creative workshop, methods of shaping identity.
