Abstract

In this paper, a stress concentration problem is analyzed for a circular bar with annular groove under axisymmetric torsion in the linear couple-stress theory. For this analysis, the use is made of the indirect fictitious-boundary integral method. As the results, the stress concentration factors and stress distributions are obtained, and the influences of parameters, such as the characteristic length / and the ratio η r , of bending-twisting moduli, on stress concentration factors are made clear.
