Abstract

Flux switching permanent magnet (FSPM) machine have attracted many attentions due to its simple assembly structure, high power density and high efficiency. However, FSPM machine typically suffers from relatively high torque ripple, which reduces the torque performance. This paper briefly analyzes the sources of torque ripple and proposes a control strategy based on a disturbance observer to suppress the torque ripple in flux switching permanent magnet machines. The undesired torque is considered as an external disturbance, which is estimated by the disturbance observer and suppressed through a feedforward channel. The availability of the proposed anti disturbance strategy is validated by the MATLAB/ Simulink simulation.
