Abstract
This paper presents a multiple reference frame method to reduce torque ripple in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) regarding non-sinusoidal back emf. It has been proved that back emf 3rd harmonic component does not interfere in torque characteristic of the motor with Y-connected windings with floating neutral point. Considering this fact, currents are optimized through a new approach, eliminating back-emf third harmonic component effect. Optimized current components are regulated through PI controllers which guaranty the desired convergence. Results have been investigated through simulations in Matlab/Simulink.
