Abstract

In this paper, torque characteristics analysis of synchronous reluctance motor by winding function theory is described. The stator is same as one of the induction motor but rotor have two differential geometries of the flux barrier to reduce the torque ripple. The flux barriers were designed by optimization algorism considering torque ripple. Inductances for the separate part of the rotor were calculated by using the winding function theory. Stator currents and torque were obtained by means of the magnetic circuits. From the comparison with results of finite element analysis the proposed method was verified.
