Abstract

The construction and testing of two new forms of toroidal Geiger counter are described. In one form the cathode consists of a set of parallel wires and in the other of a wire helix. The counters have satisfactory characteristics when filled with self-quenching gas mixtures. A brief account is given of experiments with two counters enclosed in the same vessel and operated in coincidence.
