Abstract

The reversible topotactic redox reactions of solids with various lattice dimensions is interesting e.g. regarding the synthesis and mode of formation of novel metastable phases at room temperature, as well as in the systematic variation of the physical properties of solids. Using the example of metal complexes with cluster and columnar structure it is established that redox reactions of this sort also occur in organic and inorganic solids having molecular lattice structures.
