Abstract

The paper deals with a training-type toponymic database, which is designed for teaching Russian as a foreign language. The practical relevance of it is due to the problems that arise for foreign students when mastering Russian toponymic material. The training-type database is based on the linguocultural approach, which implies not only intrabut also extralinguistic classification parameters of toponyms. The necessity of introducing of such a type database in the process of education, its technological potential and perspectives in computer-assisted language teaching are emphasized.
