Abstract

Towards the characteristics of port monitoring and the particularity of network environment, an optimized wireless sensor network (WSN) topology based on small-world network was constructed, combining with the WSN topology. The model could reduce the average path length and improve the network node clustering coefficient, which could improve the efficiency of network communication, enhance security invulnerability and reduce energy consumption. Thus the overall network lifetime can be improved ultimately. In this paper, the WSN topology of port coal terminal storage yard and optimized WSN topology based on small-world network were designed. Then, the average path length and clustering coefficient of port WSN topology were compared before and after optimization. The results showed that the average path length was shorter and clustering coefficient was bigger after optimization. In conclusion, WSN topology optimization based on small-world network is valid in the intelligent port.
