Abstract

The topological nature of the phase space of complex systems characterized by collective and intrinsic degrees of freedom gives rise to monopoles which are distinct from those associated with the diabolical points of the Hamiltonian. From the properties of the dynamics, we find no dissipation, and in general chaos, real valued su( n) representations, as well as other peculiar phenomena.
