Abstract
An extremely careful implementation of Woit's definition of the topological charge for SU(2) lattice gauge fields reveals a scaling violation by the topological susceptibility in the region $2.1<~\ensuremath{\beta}<~2.3$. The result leaves open the possibility that Woit's charge approaches Luscher's charge at weak enough coupling.
