Abstract

The topology of the VPN has a significant impact on the overall performance of the VPN service. How to construct the topology of the VPN system is a problem worth studying. This paper proposes a network topology generation scheme based on performance and load two factors to build a large VPN service. Because the load status of the server has a significant impact on VPN performance, we control the conditions of topology generation according to this conclusion, improve the minimum spanning tree algorithm in the graph theory algorithm, and add the load status as the control condition. We define evaluation values for three topological performance indicators to objectively evaluate the performance of the VPN system topology. Based on the evaluation values, we designed the topology generated by the relevant experimental investigations. The experimental results show that the performance-based and load-based topology generation algorithm improves the performance of the VPN service topology.
