Abstract

Topology control in mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) tries to lower node energy consumption by reducing transmission power and by confining interference collisions and consequently retransmission. Topology control is the art of coordinating nodes decisions regarding their transmitting range to generate a network with the desired features. In this paper, we changed neighbor-based topology control XTC for mobile ad hoc networks then we evaluated AODV routing over XTC algorithm under nodes mobility. Simulation results show that power consumption and lifetime become better by using XTC topology control algorithm on AODV compares to AODV routing protocol.
