Abstract

As a core equipment to interface between the high voltage DC-bus and low voltage DC-bus in the DC distribution network, DC solid state transformers (DCSST) use input-series output-parallel (ISOP) to achieve high voltage small current input and small voltage high current output. Due to the electrical stress limitation of the switching device, the number of power circuit in the traditional DCSST-ISOP structure is large, which will increase the number of high-frequency transformers and the volume of DCSST, and reduce the power density of DCSST. Aiming at this problem, this paper proposes a new type of DCSST topology, which can effectively reduce the number and volume of DCSST power circuit and increase its power density by stringing the voltage balancing circuit into the LLC resonant converter. Working principle, parameter design method and soft start strategy are analyzed in this article. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness and correctness of the topology structure, parameter design method and startup strategy presented in this paper.
