Abstract

The aim of this work is to study the effect of rounded fillets and minimal surfaces on the mechanical and fatigue performances of the topologically optimized lattice structure, especially a stress concentration assessment method is proposed to evaluate the fatigue performance. Results show that rounded corners and minimal surfaces are conducive to improving fatigue performances and the effect of the latter is better. Rounded fillet optimized lattice with the ratio of the fillet radius to the strut diameter of about 0.56 and minimal surface optimized lattice with k of 0.9 to 1.1 present the lowest degree of stress concentration.
