Abstract

A topological field theory associated with both the instanton moduli space and the moduli space of solutions to the Yang· Mills equation is presented. Since this theory possesses the anti-BRST symmetry as well as the BRST symmetry and contains more fields than Witten's topological Yang-Mills theory, we can construct new topological invariants on a four manifold in addition to the Donaldson invariants. The non-triviality of observables whose correlation functions are the topological invariants is examined from an algebraic point of view on the basis of suitable basic cohomologies. Geometrical meanings of fields and operators in the theory are also discussed.
