Abstract
The problem of persistent currents in 3He- A in a torroidal container is formulated in topological terms. It is shown that the appropriate topological problem is one involving the extension of a map from the surface of the torus to inside the torus. It is also shown that quantized flows on the surface need no longer be quantized inside the torus.
