Abstract

The design and the properties of a top-loading unit for a closed-cycle refrigerator are discussed. Liquid solution cells are cooled in this unit with a carrier gas under normal pressure. Heat transfer problems encountered on cooling a cell under vacuum with conductive grease in a closed-cycle refrigerator without top-loading unit are briefly reported.
