Abstract

Alopecia areata is a nonscaring,autoimmune,inflammatory disease,hair loss on tha scalp,and/or body.Etiopathogenesis of alopecia areata is still unknown but it's focuses on such as emotional stress,immunologic factors,neurologic factors,infections and genetic predisposition. Topical corticosteroids,topical immunomodulators,minoxidil,tacrolimus, intralesional corticosteroids,systemic corticosteroids and cyclosporin are used in the treatment of alopecia areata. In this article,we presented a case of alopecia areata which is responded to topical 1% pimecrolimus.
