Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the description of Topcon’s innovative B210 receiver board. This board is capable to track open signals of all the available GNSS, but its main specifics is that the board has two independent radio-frequency (RF) front-ends and a single digital section. These specifics create a foundation for achieving unparalleled performance in the areas of RTK positioning and attitude determination. Improved RTK positioning and attitude determination performance are achieved due to a synergy of two technologies developed by Topcon: patent pending AMP™ (Advanced Multi-engine Platform) and VHD™ These two technologies use the advantages that B210 represents, and allow for: ? computing more robust and precise attitude (heading and tilt) with reduced number of unknowns, based on GNSS data only, without constant ambiguity estimation and resolution; ? calculating more robust position, based on RTK-derived solutions obtained with data from two RF front-ends, combined with help of computed attitude. The paper describes the receiver board itself, specifics of patent pending AMP™ and VHD™, and test results that prove the efficiency of the suggested approach.
