Abstract

The Higgs boson mass is predicted as a function of the top quark mass by assuming that the one-loop effective potential of the standard electroweak theory satisfies the renormalization-group equation approximately. It is found that solutions for m_{H} exist only if the top quark mass is greater than 152 (176) GeV for \alpha_{3}=0.10(0.13).
