Abstract

IntroductionAs the research landscape evolves, we sought to investigate the current most cited Orthopaedic Surgery articles and compare these to previously cited articles. MethodsWeb of Science database screened orthopaedic journal articles with comparison to previous data using multivariate regression analysis. ResultsRate of citations increased 172% within the last decade. Previous rank and citations within the last decade had a greater effect on contemporary rank (p = 0.084, p = 0.002, respectively). ConclusionTrends in investigative research can shift by the next decade. Previous citation rank and citations in last decade contributed most to current rank.
