Abstract
A new method of measuring the unbalance of helicopter blades under dynamic conditions has been developed by Wayne Kerr, Chessington, Surrey. No attachment to the blades is necessary, and a direct measurement of the height of each blade is obtained with respect to one ‘reference’ blade. The measurement can be taken at any point along the length of the blades and can be obtained over a wide range of rotational speeds.
